The Nicest Person She Knows

Nurse Pam (my sister-2nd photo) told me that Hey Nonny Ding-Dong is the nicest person she knows. "Hmmm," I thought, "How could this be?" Surely, in all of our years together...all of the things I did for niece Aleecia as a girl (combing lice out of her hair; taking her shopping; always letting her do the things her mother told her not too), surely this would qualify me as the nicest person she knew.

I mean, don't I look nice? By the way, I am standing next to one of the nicest people I know, my friend Robin on the eve of marrying Mr. Yen.

Anyways, this isn't about me, it's about Pam's nicest person. She is the lady in the top picture, doing what she does...being nice. There is a label for people like Kris; Minnesota Nice. You know the type. They won't say, "Look at that freak"; instead they opt for the ever polite, "Oh, he a little differnt" (no I did not spell that wrong, that is the pronunciation.)

I rarely like to tell my sister that she is right. After much thought, I have decided I must concur. Kris is the nicest person I know. She helps people; she calms them down; she and my brother have adopted old folks in the hospital and would go to see them when they are sick; she's always the one to host the family events; and she's a nice boss. My favorite line that she told me recently was that she had to approach one of her call center employees and say, "I'm sorry, but I am going to have to take the color crayons and coloring book away...you can have it back at the end of your shift."

Kris has bought our family closer together. She is the first to forgive; and with this crew, that has been needed at several points! I need to post about the other nicest people---sister-in-law Lori who can cook and kick ass; and Colleen, who loves can make some butt-bleedin' salt potatoes.

There was a point when my nephew George was 2 and 3 when she would not use the word "No"---Kris, we forgive you for that. But he turned out pretty good, and you can be sure, they use the word "No" now, a lot.

The best thing about Kris, is that she married this guy. Just for that....she is the nicest person!

I hate/love Minnesota nice. It is one of the funniest things ever. I think you all sound like a bunch of truly nice people.

I thought Minnesota Nice was fake nice, and that Iowa Nice was truly nice. Hmmm. The people I know from both states are all really nice though, and I guess that's what matters.
